The commercial opportunity

Negotiate the economics—not just the price per box.

One vendor view across contracts, commitments and spend. Keep the evidence close to every recommended action.

  1. 01

    Make prices genuinely comparable.

Compare the same grade, dimensions, print treatment, units, order quantity and delivery basis before calling a difference a saving.

  2. 02

    Expose the cost of changes.

See how a revised specification, minimum run or setup charge changes the total purchase—not only the headline price.

  3. 03

    Protect the benefits already negotiated.

Bring qualifying purchases, volume tiers and rebate conditions into view. Treat a program-renewal or claim deadline separately from the SOW end date.

  • 01 / Packaging

    Corrugate Price Reviewer

Understand whether a price change follows the deal you signed.

    The deliverable

A comparable-price review, the supported negotiation ask and an explanation of what changes the economics.

    Explore this agent

    Configured for your business

    What it reviews

    • Material agreements and price-adjustment clauses
    • Approved grades, sizes, price schedules and quantity tiers
    • PO/invoice lines and authorized reference data

    What it looks for

    • Normalize price by the applicable unit and purchase specification.
    • Check adjustment method, effective date, reference period and any cap.
    • Separate freight, setup, print and material charges.

    How it can create value

Challenge unsupported adjustments and surface comparable internal price differences.

    Walk through the workflow

    Finding
Two orders appear differently priced, but one includes a print setup charge and a different minimum run.
    Proposed next step
Normalize the comparison and ask for a corrected like-for-like quote.
    Human review
The buyer validates volume and specification assumptions before approving the request.

    Your team retains authority

The buyer approves the negotiating position; external benchmark data is used only when separately available and authorized.

  • 02 / Packaging

    Packaging Specification Analyzer

Find specification inconsistencies that deserve a technical and commercial review.

    The deliverable

A specification-to-purchase exception list with the source, cost question and responsible technical reviewer.

    Explore this agent

    Configured for your business

    What it reviews

    • Customer-approved packaging specifications
    • Supplier quotes, bills of materials or item schedules
    • POs, invoices and customer-provided quality requirements

    What it looks for

    • Compare purchased items with the approved specification and revision.
    • Flag inconsistent units, dimensions, grades or pack quantities.
    • Show where alternative commercial options require technical validation.

    How it can create value

Reduce avoidable purchasing variation and improve the basis for supplier negotiations.

    Walk through the workflow

    Finding
Locations buy apparently similar packaging under different item descriptions and pack quantities.
    Proposed next step
Prepare an aligned comparison and identify which variants need technical review.
    Human review
The packaging owner confirms equivalence before procurement seeks consolidated terms.

    Your team retains authority

This is not autonomous packaging engineering. Quality, safety, product-protection and material substitutions require the customer’s technical approval.

  • 03 / Packaging

Make earned benefits and approaching program deadlines visible.

    The deliverable

A rebate review with eligibility assumptions, calculation support and a dated owner action.

    How it can create value

Pursue supported credits and avoid losing eligibility through missed program actions.

    Walk through the workflow

    Finding
A volume program has a separate renewal requirement even though the supply agreement continues.
    Proposed next step
Flag the program requirement in the Decision Calendar and prepare the approved clarification or renewal request.
    Human review
The owner obtains written confirmation and finance verifies subsequent credit evidence.

    Your team retains authority

A person validates qualifying data and approves any claim or renewal. Eligible value is not reported as cash received.

A system of commercial execution in Packaging

A rebate is only valuable if the required action happens.

  1. 01 / Find

Qualifying purchases and a separate program.

Bring the purchase history together with the rebate rules. Identify scope exclusions and any gaps before calculating eligibility.

    Packaging

    The evidence

Program rules, entity scope, invoice lines and credit records.

    The next decision

    Confirm the qualifying purchase base.

    Human approval required

  2. 02 / Time

The SOW end date is not the program deadline.

Keep the program renewal or claim cutoff distinct from the supply agreement’s end date. Show the governing clause and consequence.

    Packaging

    The evidence

    Program language and applicable amendments.

    The next decision

Assign the owner before the cutoff.

    Human approval required

  3. 03 / Negotiate

Ask for what the evidence supports.

Prepare a claim, renewal or clarification request. The agent manages the exchange after the customer approves the position.

    Packaging

    The evidence

Calculation, relevant purchases and approved correspondence.

    The next decision

Approve revised requests or new conditions.

    Human approval required

  4. 04 / Review

    Check the returned eligibility conditions.

Review the response for changed tiers, exclusions, minimums and dates. A headline concession may narrow who or what qualifies.

    Packaging

    The evidence

Returned program terms versus approved request.

    The next decision

Approve the final terms, then verify the credit separately.

Better questions. A more useful next move.

Explore questions about the terms, purchases and deadlines that matter in your industry.

  • A commercial approach

Are we paying different prices for the same corrugate specification?

Compare only after aligning grade, dimensions, unit, print treatment, order quantity and delivery basis. Then investigate unexplained internal differences.

    Information needed
Requires approved specifications, applicable price schedules and comparable transaction lines.
    Next move
    Prepare a like-for-like negotiating position.
  • A commercial approach

Which rebates require action before the agreement ends?

Look for separate program renewals, claim windows and qualifying periods. They must not collapse into a single contract-end reminder.

    Information needed
Requires the program provisions and controlling amendments; purchase data supports eligibility.
    Next move
Give the program cutoff an owner.
  • A commercial approach

Did the new quote improve our total packaging cost?

Assess setup charges, minimum runs, pack quantities and any revised specification alongside the unit price. Distinguish a commercial proposal from an approved technical change.

    Information needed
Requires the existing baseline, approved objectives and returned quote.
    Next move
Review gains, gaps and new trade-offs.

A few practical answers

Clear scope. Human control.

Is Packaging for producers or for companies buying packaging?

The commercial workflows can be scoped to packaging producers, converters or businesses buying packaging. Each comparison uses the relevant supplier agreement and customer-approved specification—not a generic benchmark.

Does Cantabrix redesign packaging?

No. The specification workflow identifies commercial inconsistencies and questions for technical review. It does not approve material substitutions or certify packaging performance.

Are external packaging-price benchmarks included?

A bundled market-data service is not included. Use customer data and approved reference sources where the implemented connection supports them.

Does a rebate calculation mean the credit has been received?

No. Eligibility, submitted claims, agreed credits and received credits are separate stages. The customer validates the evidence and approves the action.
